Smith LEVEL MIPS

The Smith LEVEL MIPS ski helmet uses the Koroyd-based Aerocore technology, which allows it to absorb up to 30% more energy. Effective ventilation is provided by 20 ventilation holes with independent regulation in the front and the rear of the helmet. Helmet earshells are compatible with the Outdoor Tech™ audio system. This multi-directional impact Protection System (MIPS®) helmet consists of three main parts: EPS polystyrene shell, MIPS® slide insert and elastomers that connect the first two parts. In the event of an angle impact, the elastomers are stretched, allowing the helmet shell to move slightly against the MIPS® slide insert. This will absorb the rotational forces. This is a movement in the order of millimetres. But even these few millimetres, during those critical 2 milliseconds, can significantly reduce the amount of rotational forces that might otherwise affect the brain.
