More than 25 years ago, Smartwool invented the original Merino wool socks - Classic Hike. The Smartwool HIKE CLASSIC ED LIGHT CUSHION CREW have remained largely unchanged and are definitely the most comfortable. But now they too have been improved - and this upgrade starts with recycled nylon, which gave rise to a more sustainable (but just as comfortable) sock. They are now made from sustainably sourced, ZQ-certified wool. The breeding of the sheep that provide this wool is carried out with a view to ensuring environmental, social and economic sustainability, while emphasising the best possible care for the Merino sheep.
