The Salomon company originated from the heart of the French Alps in 1947, set up by François Salomon, his wife Jeanne and son George.
For 65 years, Salomon's commitment was to innovate through design and his passion for mountain sports. With the help of his son, a range of revolutionary new concepts in bindings, boots, skis and apparel for both alpine and Nordic skiing, as well as novel solutions for footwear and equipment for snowboarding, adventure racing, mountaineering, hiking and trail running, came to life. In 1997, it became part of the Adidas Group. As of 2005 however, the Salomon Group has belonged to Amer Sports of Finland.
Salomon produces a variety of products for outdoor sports including trail running, hiking, climbing, adventure racing, skiing, and snowboarding in over 40 countries and five continents. Famed by many outdoor adventure enthusiasts for their high quality endurance tested products, from trail blazing grip running shoes to extreme weather expedition gear, their product offering has evolved greatly since its inception, and yet remains steadfast and reliable in delivering tried & tested high quality performance gear.
